The delegation of Chabad Shluchim from around the world who flew to the holy land of Israel on a mission to show support concluded Wednesday with a special event.
They organized a BBQ on a military station in the southern city of Ofakim and served a hearty meal to 125 soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces.
“For two hours, we sang together, danced together, ate together, thanked them for being the Maccabees of 2024,” said Rabbi Ruvi New, a member of the delegation and Director of Chabad of East Boca in Florida.
The Shluchim personally manned the grill showing appreciation for those risking their lives to defend Israel’s borders, citizens and the nation’s survival.
They danced together to the tune of “Al Tira Yisrael” (don’t be fearful, Israel) and blessed the soldiers to return home with a resounding victory against the terrorists of Gaza.
“Their spirit and commitment to represent the land and people of Israel is unbreakable, unshakable and rooted in deep faith and love for our land and our people,” Rabbi New added.
The trip is being led by Chabad of Israel Emergency National Response Center, part of Tzeirei Agudas Chabad, headed by Rabbi Yosef Aharonov. The Chabad of Israel Emergency National Response Center not only provides humanitarian assistance to soldiers and affected families, but also initiates visits by leaders from around the world. The director of the Emergency National Response Center, Rabbi Levi Mendelson, is closely accompanying each part of the visit.
The members of the delegation include Chabad Shluchim from all over the US, as well as from Canada and Australia. Among them are shluchim from Florida, New Jersey, Texas, California, New Orleans, Illinois, Iowa, New York and Arizona.
The trip was organized by Chabad Shluchim Rabbi David Eliezrie from California, Rabbi Yitzchak Wolff from Chicago, and Rabbi Yossi Biston from Florida. The trip was organized with the assistance of Fleischman Peles Productions.
