The delegation of Chabad Shluchim from the United States and around the world concluded their four-day mission of support in the land of Israel during the war.
The visit, which spanned diverse locations and encounters around the holy land last week, showcased the love and commitment of Jewish communities towards the people of Israel under attack by Arab enemies.
Their 4th and final day of the trip began with a visit to the Machne Shura Army base, serving as the headquarters for body identification. Here, the delegation engaged with IDF Rabbis, delving into the intricate halachos on the handling of deceased bodies and body parts.
During this meeting, terror missiles were fired, prompting a swift retreat to the safety of a bomb shelter. Undeterred, the delegation rallied together, reciting Tehillim and the Kaddish for the unidentified bodies.
The delegation’s itinerary also included a moving visit with the family of a hostage in Ashdod and a heartfelt visit to patients recovering from the brutal Hamas attack on Israel during Simchas Torah 5784.
Moving forward, the delegation ventured to Kiryat Arba, where they met with the family of a hostage among the 240 individuals who were taken captive by terrorists and remain in Gaza with their fates hanging in the balance. Heartbreakingly, a number of these hostages are children.
In the holy city of Chevron, the delegation took the opportunity to express gratitude and appreciation to the soldiers stationed there, presenting them with tokens of appreciation.
They concluded the day by davening at Mearas Hamachpela (Cave of the Patriarchs), where the delegation offered prayers of gratitude to Hashem for the safe and successful completion of their mission. Their collective plea resonated: may peace, unity, happiness, and the long-awaited revelation of Moshiach happen in our days.
