Mrs. Dee- Dee (Miriam) Pelled, member of the Chabad community in Pittsburgh, PA, passed away on Thursday night, 21 Kislev, 5779.
She was 66.
Mrs. Pelled was known for her heart of gold. She was especially careful with two mitzvos, Hachnasos Orchim (inviting guests) and Ahavas Yisroel (loving your fellow Jew).
She was known for her Shabbos table, which was always filled with guests, and making everyone feel welcome and at home.
Dee-Dee was in a terrible car accident on Thursday. Many around the world united in saying Tehillim in her merit, but tragically, she passed away.
Her passing has created an indescribable void amongst her family, friends, and community.
She is survived by her husband Yaakov and children, Shani Pelled, Maya Beck, Anit Silver, Orlee Percia, Adina Pelled and Mordechai Pelled.
She was predeceased by her daughter Yael OBM.
The Levaya will take place today, Friday, at 11:30 am leaving from Gesher HaChaim/Shaare Torah and will proceed past Lubavitch Center and Hillel Academy and then on to burial at Homewood Cemetery.
A fund has been set up to raise $500,000 to help the Pelled family during this difficult time.
Baruch Dayan Ha’emes.
Adina, my heart is with you. No words.
May Hashem send you comfort with the coming of Moshiach this minute!

Her home was open to all, particularly to the the Israeli “mall enterpreneurs” who heard about their Israel Chabad outpost. There was always enough food, one on one chats with anyone who needed to share their troubles and joys. As private as she was, she was available as necessary. DeeDee ran to her children to assist and care for them when they gave birth, often back to back, never… Read more »

Hashem!!!
Our DeeDee. We each shared a different side of her through her loss and with each Mazal Tov. My heart is torn open to loose a Jewish friend and sister at such a young age. Reunited with Yael yet torn from her beautiful husband and children, sons-in-laws and grandchildren. I am so very sorry, for you loss we suffer right beside you. Bracha Levin

To the Pelled’s: We will always be there for you. Just like you were always there for us.
Such a tragic loss. May Hashem comfort you.
Yankel and Dee-Dee lost a child, r”l. Since then, over 20 years ago, whenever a family was in crisis, especially related to loss, she was incredibly supportive, and was a wonderful resource. So it was for us when we suffered our loss.
May her memory be for a blessing.
This was a terrible shock and tragedy for our community. The Pelleds are an esteemed family here and we are all utterly heartbroken. Please give what you can to help out the family.
