As the count down to Pesach has ended, we approach another kind of counting: the counting of the Omer. 49 days fall between Pesach and Shavuos and we mark each of these days by counting it verbally.
It is a Chabad custom to learn each Sefirah day one page of Maseches Sotah, a particular tractate in the Gemara, which has 49 pages.
As mentioned in HaYom Yom, the Lubavitcher Rebbe encouraged this practice, stating, “The decision to study Sotah during these days, and encouraging others to study, will bring salvation to you and to the entire world.”
This Pesach, TorahCafe.com is proud to host daily classes on Maseches Sotah with Dayan Berel Bell, a member of the Montreal Vaad Ha’ir Beis Din and director of Teacher Training for the Rohr Jewish Learning Institute (JLI).
Renowned for his ability to convey the most complex ideas in an easy to grasp manner, Rabbi Bell takes viewers and listeners on a day-by-day journey through this tractate of Gemara.
