CTeen Kinus Workshop Open to All Yungeleit

With so many yungeleit looking for the right shlichus opportunity, a new frontier of Shlichus is being introduced at an open session this Thursday.

It’s the time of year again, the streets of Crown Heights are filled with Shluchim from all corners of the earth for the Kinus. Among the Kollel yungerleit, the main topic of conversation is once again: the search for a new shlichus.

Kollel yungeleit are meeting with shluchim in search of opportunity, while shluchim look around to see who can best help expand their activities.

There’s no denying that finding a new shlichus can be a challenge. Many dream of leading their own mosad, yet simple geography means that most locations are already taken and those that aren’t often have too small a Jewish population to sustain a full-time shliach.

Now, a group of CTeen Shluchim are presenting a new path forward:

Independent CTeen Shlichus: The New Frontier.

A unique opportunity for new shluchim to build something of their own while impacting hundreds, even thousands, of Yidden.

As Jewish teens face increasing challenges in school and online, more are turning to their CTeen Chapter for community, belonging, and purpose.

“The goal of the Kinus workshops is for shluchim to bring what they’ve learned in the field and share it with their peers,” said Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, Director of the International Kinus Hashluchim and Executive Director of Merkos 302. “CTeen’s growth has accelerated dramatically over the past year. There’s demand, teens want meaning, they want to make impact. Shluchim are seeing that shift firsthand, and at the Kinus, they turn those local insights into a global movement.”

To meet this growing demand, and to empower new shluchim to spread their wings, CTeen International is facilitating an open session on thursday showcasing the opportunity of becoming fully independent CTeen shluchim.

Already, several such shluchim are in the field and seeing remarkable success. Some have even established CTeen Houses, dedicated Chabad Houses serving solely teenagers.

“We’ve seen that when a shliach is fully independent and completely focused on teens, the impact multiplies tenfold,” says Rabbi Shimon Rivkin, Director of CTeen International at Merkos 302. “That’s why CTeen is now encouraging new shluchim to take on positions where they can build full CTeen mosdos, complete with their own CTeen House, dedicated entirely to reaching and empowering Jewish teens.”

Three independent CTeen shluchim who have already seen great success with this model will be presenting a special workshop on Thursday, 22 Cheshvan (November 13).

Unlike most Kinus workshops, this session will be open to both current and potential shluchim and will take place in the Kollel, making it as convenient as possible for yungeleit to attend.

Presenting will be Rabbi Chaim Shemtov of Bucks County, PA, Rabbi Dovid Goldshmidt of Atlanta Georgia and Rabbi Shalom Cheruf of New Haven, CT who will share their firsthand experiences in building a thriving CTeen mosad, and how this model can work for more shluchim around the world.
