For most children, starting the school year is filled with excitement, anticipation, and a touch of nervousness. Walking into the classroom with a brand-new backpack, filled to the brim with fresh supplies—crisp notebooks, unsharpened pencils, and brightly colored markers. These new items symbolize a fresh start, a chance to begin the year on the right foot. But for some children, this moment of excitement is clouded by the anxiety of showing up without these essentials.
Every child in our community deserves the chance to start the school year with confidence. That’s why CSSY is in the midst of its annual Back to School campaign to distribute backpacks filled with all the necessary supplies to children in the Crown Heights community. Thanks to generous sponsors and donors, CSSY is providing over 400 children with backpacks bursting with brand-new supplies. Will you partner with CSSY to ensure that no child has to face the embarrassment or frustration of starting school unprepared?
CSSY’s Back to School campaign is about more than just distributing backpacks; “it’s about ensuring every child in our community can start the school year with dignity and hope”, says Rabbi Benjy Stock, Director of Chevra Simchas Shabbos V’Yom Tov. By providing these essential supplies, we’re not just filling backpacks but filling hearts with the joy and confidence of being ready to take on new challenges.
CSSY’S Back To School Campaign is dedicated in loving memory of Shneur Zalman Ben Rendel Alenick.
If someone you know is in need of a backpack filled with supplies, click here to request one. Supplies are limited, and bags will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, so don’t delay.
Let’s ensure that every child in our community can start the school year on the right foot—with a fresh, new backpack and the supplies they need to succeed. Because when children are equipped and confident, they’re ready to do their best.
Please open your hearts and wallets and join CSSY Back to School Campaign.
