Former city staffer Crystal Hudson has taken an early lead as the first-choice, in-person votes roll in for Brooklyn’s 35th District City Council primary race, according to election night results.
Hudson — who has worked for City Council Member Laurie Cumbo and the Public Advocate — held a strong lead with nearly 41 percent of the vote as of 11:55 p.m., when about 100 percent of precincts had reported their in-person votes, according to ABC7.
In second place was tenant organizer Michael Hollingsworth, who held 33 percent of the vote as of 11:55 p.m., according to the numbers. Renee Collymore was in third with 13 percent of the vote.
The Jewish community of Crown Heights has actively supported Hudson, who has campaigned extensively to the Chabad community.
In an election night speech to supporters, Hudson thanked the Chasidic community for their support, saying she is “proud to have the orthodox and Chasidic community on my team,” to applause and shouts of “Mazel Tov!” and “L’Chaim!”
Final results will not be known until June 29, when the city BOE will run the ranked choice voting tabulation and release another set of unofficial in-person results. The results will be published on the BOE’s website.

She is very left leaning, was the other candidate worse?
an open antisemite, his twitter account is full of pro arab posts
But, Frightening how many votes the admitted anti semite got
Unfortunately, is still not over and as of now (morning after election) it is only 38.6 to 34.5 (not counting the other candidates). Way too close for comfort and perhaps too early to celebrate…(unless since are in the know about whom the second choice for these other candidates were?)
Perhaps that was proper, but not knowing for sure, I wrote her name down as a write in for city council. My voting place is a school on E. N. Y. Ave.
Has anyone actually read her website? She may not be an antisemite, but she has the same policies as Hollingsworth https://www.crystalforbk.com/
