Message from Jewish Future Alliance:
A water shut down scheduled for this morning on Kingston Ave (between President and Union) has been postponed.
The barricade blocking off the manhole was moved and someone parked over it. They were not able to access the manhole this morning, and rescheduled today’s water shutdown for Monday (3/25/2024) to avoid interrupting preparations for Purim.
There was also a water shutdown scheduled for Wednesday that was postponed.
“There shouldn’t be any water shutdowns on Fridays, as it’s a time when people prepare for Shabbos. Scheduling it, having everyone prepare, and then canceling it is borderline reckless. Some restaurants planned their day around the shutdown. How difficult is it to have a tow truck ready? It’s a common practice. The contractor will be working on Kingston for a year; they need to do a better job,” said Yaacov Behrman of the Jewish Future Alliance.
