The Crown Heights Lag BaOmer bonfire in the merit of the Yartzeit of Rabi Shimon Bar Yochai, which has become a beloved yearly tradition, took place Thursday evening.
Coordinated yearly by R’ Zalman Liberow and a group of community askonim, the annual event unites young and old in Crown Heights around the bonfire along with beautiful singing and dancing.
Rainy weather couldn’t dampen the spirit of the event, and this year, the program was enhanced and enlarged, with a grand lighting presentation and LED video walls showing the festivities by Mendy Boaron of MLP Lighting. The entire event was streamed live by Perfect Events NYC.
The large bonfire was lit by Reb Yuda Meer.
COLlive was a proud sponsor of the event, which was enhanced through the sponsorship of donors from the community.
A large catered buffet of delicious hot food was served to participants.
The bonfire is held in memory of Saadia Shmuel a”h Liberow. It is coordinated by Rabbi Moishy Sufrin and Rabbi Shimon Liberow among others, with the approval of the NYPD and NYC Parks Department.
