Less than two months ago, the first class of Machon Limud Halacha – Lemaan Yilmedu was opened in Crown Heights, and the directors have seen such a tremendous response that they have announced the opening of a second class to accommodate more participants.
The Program Director, Rabbi Zushe Wilhelm opened this semicha program to enable working people and those with busy schedules to study and receive semicha l’rabbanus in a program tailored to their needs. B’H we have been able to do so without compromising on quantity or quality in the learning. Towards that goal the shiurim take place in the evening and along with the Shulchan Aruch translated into English, students are given incredible learning aids like summaries and chart visuals to simplify the subject matter. Shiurim are recorded on video to offer those who miss a shiur the ability to view the shiur later.
Here are some samples of the incredible work that is being put into the program.
- Shulchan Aruch Translated into English
- Visualized Smicha Summaries
- Detailed Summaries for Chazara
- Video of the Shiur
The demand for the program has grown beyond our wildest imagination. Never did Rabbi Willhelm expect for there to be such a need and desire to learn Smichah in such a format. The first class that opened in Elul was filled within days and many applicants were unfortunately denied. Now we have been able to open an entirely new class to accommodate all those we couldn’t.
The new class will begin, B”H, on Sunday, 7 Cheshvan (10/25/20) and will routinely take place on Sunday evenings for about a year.
There are only a few spaces left. If you are interested in joining the program we would suggest reaching out as soon as you can.
