Hundreds of Jewish residents from the Crown Heights neighborhood in Brooklyn traveled to Washington, DC to take part in the Israel Solidarity Rally on Tuesday.
Their presence, along with other Lubavitchers from around the country, was felt way beyond their numbers.
The “March for Israel” rally in the US capital made history for being both the largest ever pro-Israel gathering and the largest Jewish gathering in US history.
Organizers said over 290,000 people attended, and millions watched clips from it online. The event was meant to showcase the American people’s support for Israel and the return of the hostages taken by Hamas, as well as their condemnation of rising antisemitism in the US.
Organizers of Coach Bus transportation from Crown Heights estimate that approximately 1,500 people headed out from Crown Heights on 14 buses, rented vans and private cars.
The transportation for many Crown Heights residents was organized by activists Zalmy Cohen, Menachem Light and Moshe Pinson of Bais Shmuel Chabad, which filled their own Coach bus, and Rabbi Eli Cohen of the CHJCC and Crown Heights activist Yaacov Behrman.
“We heard from many people that the police were remarking they got ‘a career’s worth of thank yous in one shift today!,'” Cohen told COLlive.com.
Beyond personally attending, the Lubavitchers from Crown Heights and elsewhere did Mivtzoim, helping rally participants to do a Mitzvah for Israel.
Many people responded in the affirmative, as they put on Tefillin and said a prayer. Some added Tehillim and dedicated it to the hostages and soldiers.
While the exact number of Tefillin put on at the rally is difficult to estimate, it is clear that the many that did send up their prayers to Heaven.

Let’s remember that the massacre in Israel and ensuing war was completely avoidable by the Israeli, European and American leadership in charge. The American and European were behind the ‘humanitarian’ funding used to bribe the impoverished Arab savages from Gaza with $10000 and a apartment for killing and kidnapping Jews (as admitted by those caught) as well as funding and building up Hamas’ weapons and skill. In addition the Israeli intelligence did nothing to repel or respond immediately to the attack as was their duty. They also allowed 17000 Gazan Arab workers in prior to the attack who then gathered… Read more »

How exactly would the powers like to fight anti semitism and return the hostages?
Are they considering implementing sweeping online control and censorship?
Are they considering importing a million violent Jew hating Gazan Arab refugees in exchange for the hostages?
Watch your backs. With such friends who needs enemies….
We all know in the depth of our hearts that all this Jewish blood wouldn’t’ve spilled, if the leader of the USA put America First and displayed American strength (not pathetic weakness) on the world stage. For 4 beautiful years, the Anti Semites in the Middle East were scared to attack Israel (similarly, Putin was scared to invade another country, China wasn’t harassing Taiwan, and Rocket Man didn’t threaten S. Korea) and America didn’t start any new wars. For 4 years, the Media did a great job at distracting us from all this epic greatness by concocting various Impeachment® hoaxes… Read more »
