Their doors are closed, but their kitchens are open.

Kosher restaurants in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights neighborhood ceased their dine-in option upon the instruction of New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio to limit interaction between people during the coronavirus pandemic.

But with the takeout and delivery option still viable, local eateries have their staff working full time to fill in orders for the many individuals and families who are confined to their homes.

The entire store is being sanitized. All orders are prepared separately with utensils and stations sanitized between orders. Workers wear masks while cooking and packing orders. Cashiers change gloves frequently.

Take out: Orders will be taken one customer at a time – with no communication between customers and kitchen workers.

Delivery: Orders will be left by the door to prevent interaction with people.
