Rabbi Avrohom Osdoba and Rabbi Yosef Braun, the members of the Crown Heights Beis Din, issued a public letter “in response to many requests on that should be done at this time.”
In the letter dated Tuesday, they mention “disease” in reference to Covid-19 and continued passings as a result of a spike in infections around New York City, but also locally.
They reiterated their stance that instructions by doctors and health professionals should be followed.
They also added about the “need to strengthen in Torah, Tefillin (specifically concentration in reciting brachos), and especially in tzedaka (a few times a day),” as well as reciting Tehillim.
They quoted a note that Rabbi Osdoba sent to the Rebbe in 5748 asking about a local concern. The Rebbe responded: “Tefillin and Mezuzos that have not been checked within the last 12 months should be checked.”
They recommended that residents do the same now.
An excellent initiative.
In addition, CHers might want to wear masks to indoor lchaims that are proudly posted on this website.
One has nothing to do with another,no reason to be sarcastic about something good
They are both important. This is not sarcastic..its real. We need to do both ruchnius and gashmious to ensure that we are protected
if the masks work then why are so many people still getting it? The real answer most masks are worthless the masks are about control. The vaccine is about control not health the regs in this state the bureaucracy is about control! Concentrate on What the Rebbe wants & not bowing to lunatics nut cases etc!
Everyone knows exactly what the Rebbe wants. How about K’atzas Rofe Yedid??? Does the Rebbe suddenly not want that?
What an odd reply. First, masks aren’t a guarantee that someone will not get the virus. But they make it less likely to catch it, provided you are being cautious in other ways as well (distancing, washing hands etc…) I find it bewildering that so many people have issues with masks.
Second, maybe people are getting sick because they aren’t wearing masks or being careful generally.
Stop whining about your conspiracy theories and government control. Protect yourself and others

Great service!
As a community, we should probably start wearing masks and social distancing too. G-d will do His part but we have to do our part too.
Too bad the Rabbanim don’t urge people to get rid of (or at least hide) the “smart” phones (modern day golden calf), especially in 770. This would help to stop the plague more than any mask.
Checking Mezuzahs is an amazing segulah, thank you Rabbanim for pointing it out! In addition to that, maybe CHers can wear masks in public, in doors and out doors so that it doesn’t create a Chillul Hashem. Here in Canada, everyone wears masks and no one’s pointing fingers at the frum community.
Not to mention only a tiny tiny of all masks/facial coverings are N-95 AND a huge amount that say N-95 are fakes to begin with. And many masks are worn way to long before disposal or washing etc.
So yes for masks BUT again the distance is way more important.
Maybe hashem keep us all safe.

Why don’t these Rabbonim get everyone to exercise for 30 minutes a day? How about teaching about good nutrition, which the frum community is so clueless about?
My wife had covid with flu-like symptoms. My children and I all tested negative. Same home, same rooms, same kitchen etc, no social distancing, no masks.
and in addition, let’s look at why the plague in the times of Rabbi Akiva happened, and increase in respect for each other.
