This past year has been a very stressful year for most of us. From the uptick in violence and crime in our neighborhood to the Covid-19 outbreak, along with all the effects it had and continues to have on our community’s health, business and employment and on our children’s yiddishe education.
With Hashem’s help, over the last year, there were a few great volunteer organizations, first responders and Chessed emergency services that were there for us all 24/7 – among them are Hatzalah, Shomrim, Shmira and Chaverim.
With the coming year up ahead (which will IY”H be a year full of wonders, miracles and Moshiach), it is a time to call upon our entire Crown Heights community to step up to the plate.
Those that can, please consider volunteering part time for an organization that you feel would be able to make a difference with and help out fellow Yidden in our community.
Hatzalah – For Crown Heights mature men that are already EMT’s and or in the Medical Field, to consider joining this life-saving chessed organization. Best is to contact a friend, relative or someone you know that is already in Hatzalah to inquire with them directly about possibly joining.
Shomrim / Shmira – For mature working bocherim or men to help out with the current matzav of the safety and security of Kan Tziva Hashem Es Habrocha. To consider joining either of these selfless safety organizations for your neighborhood, best is to contact a friend, relative or someone you know that is already in either Shmira or Shomrim to inquire with them directly about possibly joining.
Crown Heights Chaverim – For working men that are handy with locks, lockouts, doors, cars etc should definitely consider joining CH Chaverim.
There are plenty of other Chessed volunteer organizations that anyone in our community who has some free time to help. Women, girls and men of all ages can join that can make a huge good impact on helping our Fellow Yidden here in the Rebbe’s community.

From all the merits, good deeds and the tremendous amount of Chessed and achdus that Yidden throughout the world continue to have towards each other, may we all merit to dance this year’s Simchas Beis Hashoaiva by the Beis Hamikdash HaShlishi in Yerushalaim with the coming of Moshiach now.

Join Shomrim/Shmira At a time when the police are being defunded and handcuffed, and the criminals are committing crimes on the streets of Kan Tziva Hashem Es Habrocha. Shomrim and Shmira, both great organizations, are out all day and all night doing their best for us all. These brave individuals are volunteering their time for you, for us, for our community, but they both need more brave individuals to join to help our community stay safe.
