“HAKHEL!” is a call to action that comes along only once in 7 years, and this year it will b’ezras Hashem take on historic proportions as men, women and children from around the world tune in and join a simultaneous world wide Hakhel Gathering on Sunday, 7 Tishrei at 1:00 PM New York time.
The global celebration will feature live Hakhel gatherings in Kfar Chabad, Moscow, London, Paris, Johannesburg, S. Paulo, Brazil, Buenos Aires, Argentina, Crown Heights, Chicago, New York and Toronto. Dozens of other communities will be hosting a local Hakhel program featuring a public viewing of the worldwide celebration, which will be broadcast live on www.chabad.org/hakhel5776 and on COLlive.com.
Many of the events around the world will be preceded by local programs and will include additional speakers and programming.
The Crown Heights program will take place at 1:00 pm.
Women and girls will be at Beis Rivkah, 310 Crown St., in the Main Shul.
Men and boys will be at Beis Rivkah, 470 Lefferts Avenue.
All are encouraged to attend.
“Without doubt, the historic nature of this Hakhel gathering of such magnitude, uniting all anash, will merit the presence of the Rebbe,” said Rabbi Tzvi Grunblatt, host of the Buenos Aires Hakhel.
The Vaad Or Vchom Hahiskashrus is coordinating this event and assisting in these numerous simultaneous celebrations around the world with the stated goal of uniting thousands of people around the world in this mega-Hakhel broadcast, as well as to inspire, motivate and encourage all the participants to host and arrange gatherings over the course of this entire auspicious year with business colleagues, friends, neighbors and family.
Coming only days before the Yomtov of Sukkos – when the essential Hakhel gathering took place in the Beis Hamikdash with the Melech, may we be zoiche to fulfill it in that literal fashion this year as well – the Vaad will disseminate material based on the Rebbe’s sichos, to assist and encourage each individual in their fulfillment of the Rebbe’s hoira’ah to host and run Hakhel gatherings in Tishrei, during Sukkos and beyond.
