Crown Heights Career Hub, the innovative employment training program specifically geared towards the Anash community, has successfully completed its first completely online semester.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, classes were moved online without sacrificing the quality of the physical classroom interactive teacher-student relationship. In fact, it was enhanced as the course added several online features bringing the class to new levels.
Under the auspices of Neil Schwerd, a highly successful and acclaimed corporate recruiter, CHCH trains its students, men and women, in the necessary skills they will need for long-term success in today’s highly competitive job market. Using intensive hands-on lessons, our professional instructors teach all the necessary skills needed for upward career growth. Courses include, but are not limited to: MS Excel, WORD, PowerPoint, Access, AMAZON sales, Bookkeeping, E-security, online business simulation program, resume preparation, interview coaching and much more!!
The men’s class will continue to teach the necessary entry-level managerial skills required for long term successful career growth. The women’s class is being upgraded to a full 50 hour BOOKKEEPING/QUICKBOOKS training course!!
Both men’s and women’s classes will be followed by job placement assistance in conjunction with our team of top recruiters.
CHCH has been training tomorrow’s Anash professionals since 2018. This past semester, which launched amidst the quarantine, was taught completely online using the Google Classroom/Meet platform. Students and teachers were able to interact successfully as if in a real classroom setting.
Due to the new online teaching method, enrollment in the past cohort, for both men and women skyrocketed and late applicants were, unfortunately, turned away due to lack of slots.
WE ARE BE”H LAUNCHING OUR NEXT TWO CLASSES FOR MEN AND WOMEN RIGHT AFTER SIMCHAS TORAH!! The scheduled start dates are, Monday, October 12 for the women’s group and Monday, October 19 for the men’s class.
CHCH is funded by the UJA Federation of Greater New York and an anonymous donor. It is a project of the JCC of Greater Coney Island under the guidance of Rabbi Moshe Wiener and the Crown Heights Jewish Community Council under the leadership of Rabbi Eli Cohen.

The curriculum and schedule:
MEN
• 6 weeks of online entry-level managerial job training program with live instruction.
• Classes: Monday-Thursday 9am-4pm (with 1 hour break at 12pm); Fridays 9am-12pm.
• Subjects: Microsoft Office Suite and Google complements of: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, and more.
• Skills: the basics of Amazon selling and the online marketplace, database management, workplace professional skills, introduction to coding, SQL, Cybersecurity, and more.
• Includes a professional business simulation program, where you will have the opportunity to apply your newly acquired skills by running your own virtual business, making real world HR, supply chain, sales and financial decisions.
• Job placement assistance following the course.
WOMEN
• Evening course designed to accommodate your busy schedule, 2 evenings per week for a 2 month period.
• For Chabad women, Shluchos, mothers, post-seminary, all who are interested in career development are welcome.
• Job placement assistance following the course.
• Intensive QuickBooks/Bookkeeping professional course. Learn to become a proficient bookkeeper.
• Prepares you for a bookkeeping job in an office or to work remotely, starting you on a career with upward growth potential while balancing family flexibility.
• Skills: Bookkeeping, Amazon sales, Entrepreneurial skills.
• Improve your knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and Google complements as well: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, and more.
