The Rabonim of Crown Heights have joined to strengthen and raise the standards of Kedusha of the Yiddishe home.
One of the most important preparations done by a Chosson and Kallah during their engagement is learning the Halachos and Hashkafos of Taharas Hamishpacha. The education that they receive during this time provides the foundation and framework on which their marriage will be built.
The Badatz of Crown Heights has released a letter announcing the launch of Machon Taharas Habayis led by Rabbi Tuvia Kasimov and Rabbi Mendel Yusewitz, an organization created to provide a high-quality training and accreditation program to Chosson teachers. The goal is to ensure that each Chosson enters marriage with proper tools to build a healthy, Chassidishe home with the foundations of Halocha and our hashkofa as chassidim. They will also be able to turn to their Chosson teacher for resources and guidance in a variety of typical situations that frequently come up.
Rabbi Osdoba and Rabbi Braun note that they will include a question on their Siddur Kidushin asking if the Chosson’s teacher was certified by Machon Taharas Habayis, and the Crown Heights Kollel under the leadership of Rabbi Yosef Avraham Halevi Heller will likewise inquire when applying to get accepted to the Kollel.
The organization has already begun partnering with Chosson teachers to ensure that their current students benefit from the standards as well.
In addition to Rabbi Osdoba and Rabbi Braun, the Vaad of Machon “Taharas Habayis” includes Rabbi Sholom Ber Chaikin of Cleveland, the Rov of Mikva.org.
Free Translation of the letter:
B’shaah Tova, we send our brochos honoring the founding of “Machon Taharas HaBayis” institute which led by HaRav Tuvia HaLevi Kasimov, a Rov in our kehila, and HaRav Menachem Mendel Dov Yusewitz who have undertaken to strengthen Tahara and Kedusha in the Yiddishe home in all aspects. This begins with ensuring Chasanim establish their future Jewish homes based on authentic Yiddishkait both in Halachic and Hashkafic matters.
We hereby notify that this Machon in under our supervision. We fully trust the Machon in every aspect of Madrichei Chasanim and we specifically rely upon Chosson teachers who are recognized and approved by this Machon.
Hence, for Sidur Chupa v’Kidushin in Crown Heights (in addition to verifying Jewish status etc) we will inquire to make sure the Chosson learnt by a Madrich Chasanim which is approved and accepted by this Machon. (Much like this is examined regarding the Kallah Teacher).
Until the Machon is completely set up. The responsibility lies upon each Chosson to do proper research ensuring that his Madrich Chasanim is indeed a Yirei Shomayim and teaches according to the Halacha and Hahskafa which has been passed down to us for generations – our Mesora. (of course the same applies for a Kallah teacher).
Rabbi Avrohom Osdoba Rabbi Yosef Yeshaya Braun
P.S. We are also aware that Hanhalas Hakollel under the Mazkirus have decided that all future Chasanim applying for Kollel, the Hanhala will check if they learnt by someone approved by the Machon prior to accepting them. We ask of all other Kollelim follow this step.

Finally setting a bar for our communities!!!
Hopefully next step will be open Shalom Bais & Taharas Mishpoha classes for married men
the boys need Yahdus classes way before they become chassanim, unfortunately by the time they reach that age the damage is already done…. they need to be able to openly discuss relationship ideas respect for woman how to talk to a girl how to treat a woman.
Good start though.
