Family, friends, and community members gathered for a memorial event marking the Shloshim of Rabbi Mendy Raitport OBM on Sunday evening in Crown Heights.
The event, held at The Lounge in Crown Heights, commemorated 30 days since the tragic passing of Rabbi Raitport, who lost his life in a car accident at the age of 57.
Speakers at the event spoke about Mendy as a beloved husband and father of 8 and devoted community activist.
After his sudden and heartbreaking passing, many inspiring and touching stories have come to light—stories that, until now, were known only to a few, his family said.
In an effort to preserve his memory and share the legacy he left behind, the family is compiling a memoir of reflections and stories. Those who knew Rabbi Raitport are invited to contribute their memories by emailing: [email protected].
