Outbreaks of coronavirus in three different Chabad Bungalow colonies in the NY Catskills have led to a lockdown for at least one of them this week.
At least one person has tested positive for Coronavirus at Evergreen Estates, COLlive has learned. At least one person has reportedly tested positive at Inner Circle as well, a homeowner there who is from out of state. An outbreak at Mei Menuchos was reported to COLlive as well.
The board of Mountain Lodge Estates informed residents that several positive Covid-19 cases were reported after three members of a family visiting the bungalow colony tested positive.
“These family members were in shul in both locations and interacted with various people in MLE,” they wrote.
After being advised by the Gedalia society and Dr. Eli Rosen, they have established “modified” guidelines in recognition of our community’s experience.
“Anyone who previously tested positive for Covid or tested positive for antibodies does not need to quarantine. However, you should be vigilant and monitor your health. If you feel sick, get tested and isolate. Pay special attention to social distancing,” they advised.
Anyone who has not had the virus must quarantine for two weeks.
They also specified that there be no visitors to Mountain Lodge Estate at all.
The Shul and Mikvah will be closed and they will hold outdoor Minyanim. No kiddush or social gatherings. Ideally, everyone should wear a mask, they said. The Day camp will continue to operate with greater vigilance.
