Siman and Mary Bronshtyn, an elderly couple who lived in Crown Heights for many years, passed away after they both contracted coronavirus.
Siman was 90 and Mary was 83.
The couple, from the former Soviet Union, arrived in New York in 1992 and settled in Crown Heights.
Mary Bronshtyn was a beloved baby sitter for many families in the neighborhood over the years.
Siman Bronshtyn was known to many in the neighborhood and earned the title of “Mayor of Kingston Avenue.”
Sadly, they both succumbed to the Coronavirus.
They leave a daughter Yevgenya Cherny and a son Yuri Bronsthyn, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
