Thank you for these updates. Whoever is behind them is really doing a service for the community (and the community at large, as many out of towners take these updates seriously too). It is reassuring to get factual information in a clear format, that helps us to make some sense out of all the confusion. Free antibody testing?

Would anyone know if we can get tested for antibodies for free? My insurance copay is usually over $100 per doctor visit… I have no interest paying that much for each family member just to be tested for antibodies. (No, we are not eligible to donate blood unfortunately, so we can’t get tested that way)

Testing even with no symptoms.

If I didn’t have any symptoms, can I still test for antibodies? If I’m asymptomatic perhaps I have, and I’d be able to donate plasma.

Family members with symptoms

The survey doesn’t ask if you’ve been around anyone with symptoms. I’ve never had any of the usual symptoms but did feel sluggish, however my wife almost went to the hospital with symptoms. So it’s very probable that I’ve had it. I think such a question is pertinent in learning how different people may have different levels of immunity.

thanks

for making these posts. In addition to the information, I appreciate the humility.

Unfortunately some people are still ignoring the social distancing thing, as I saw a porch farbrengen on shabbos with people of different families, without masks. I hope no illness spreads as the result.
