Ahavas Chesed organization held a hugely successful Blood Drive on May 17 at the Lubavitch Yeshiva in Crown Heights.
Ahavas Chesed holds monthly Blood Drives to provide units of blood for local hospitals that serve the community, as blood is always in short supply.
Organizers were grateful to be joined by a distinguished member of the community, Chazan Schneur Zalman Baumgarten.
“The wonderful Crown Heights community spirit of chesed and helping others was obviously on display,” said Rabbi Avraham Lieder, organizer of the drive. “Thank you Crown Heights, from the bottom of our hearts, for your participation in this mitzvah, which is literally pikuach nefesh for so many people.”
Ahavas Chesed Blood Drives are always announced on our Facebook page www.facebook.com/AhavasChesedNY, and you can register for future Blood Drives on our website www.chesedcenter.org.
It does benefit our community. When we help the hospital by donating blood, they reciprocate with consideration to our needs.
There’s a blood drive here every month. Hope to see you at the next drive.
Is there a benefit by donating at thus event? Can I just go directly to the hospital?
I was pleasantly surprised by the large number of 16 and 17 year old girls who came to donate. Keep it up girls!
