Among the millions of travelers wanting to skip the Thanksgiving rush are hundreds of Shluchim making their way to Brooklyn, NY, for the annual Kinus convention.
On many of the flights landing in New York airports a black hatters can be seen picking up luggage and riding to either the Rebbe’s Ohel in Queens or Crown Heights.
In addition to discussions and farbrengens, Shluchim can expect cold temperatures and light rain showers in their first day of the Kinus beginning from the morning hours on Thursday.
“A weak storm system will pass by New York City on Thursday and bring a little rain to the city,” AccuWeather Meteorologist Jordan Root said. “Temperatures will be in the middle 40s.”
The forecast is a departure from the unseasonably mild fall temperatures New York City had been enjoying in recent weeks, IBT news reported.
However, the weather is an improvement from earlier in the week, which saw frigid temperatures, high winds and even some fleeting snow around.
Thursday’s day-long sessions and program will be taking place at the Brooklyn Marriott on Adams St. Friday and Shabbos will be spent in Crown Heights and at the Ohel.
What a tremendous Kiddush HaShem to have so many Shluchim who are responsible for the spreading torah throughout the world —- to come together in one place, at one time in the spirit of Achdus!!
I see the Shluchim being greeted warmly, despite the weather.
