I got a call from one of the einiklach of Horav Elye Simpson, that it was R’Elye Yeichel Simpson who went by train to Chicago with Reb Shmuel Levitin, and were accompanied to the offices of the people in the city, by the Rabbonim of their respective Shuls. Thanks for the precious message… Clearly the legacy of our Rebbeim, truly showing that as every Jew, no matter what… is a – חלק אלוק ממעל ממש, there is therefore never a need to FIX, only to reveal, to accentuate and bring out the brilliant shine… As well being engraved letters – actually already fixed, etched, ingrained, – “one and of the same”… so could it be also that the Rebbe was not happy to merely compare a jew to single letters, but rather furthermore as the Ramban and other meforshim explain that every jew is a complete Walking Sefer… Read more »

In the case of today’s story, which is familiar as I heard it many years ago from Reb Shmuel’s grandson: It’s true that the Frierdike Rebbe corrected them by making the comparison with engraved in stone, rather than, written on parchment letters, but he said that “Mir daf nohr gemn a bloz” (a mere poof) to dislodge whatever dust may have accumulated.
