The famous “Hemshech Samach Vov” was written by the Rebbe Rashab over a hundred years ago and now Chabad.org is celebrating a new milestone: over 100 classes were broadcasted on this hemshech.
It all started in 5775 when a unique Chassidus class, taught by Dr. Yaakov Brawer of Montreal, began to feature weekly on Chabad.org. The class went through the maamorim of the Rebbe Rashab, explaining them in a clear and accessible style.
Dr. Brawer is professor emeritus at McGill University’s Faculty of Medicine, and lectures on Neuroendocrinology and Chassidism. He is the author of two books on Chassidic philosophy, “Something From Nothing” and “Eyes That See.”
“When launching this class, we recognized the importance of these Chassidus shiurim and the unique delivery of Dr. Brawer ” says Rabbi Shmuel Lifshitz of Chabad.org’s Jewish.tv. “yet, the level of enthusiasm it received surpassed expectations.”
In honor of the occasion, Dr. Brawer was surprised with a cake and “Lechaim.”
The weekly class, available both online and as a podcast, has so far covered seven maamorim. It’s worth noting that each class is accompanied by a beautiful copy of the Maamar, generously provided by Kehos Publications.
We encourage you to join the learning, as we start this week a new Maamar u’Mikneh Rav. This classic discusses the different types of Avodah of an ‘Eved’ and ‘Ben’ (a servant and child) of Hashem.
Special thanks to Rabbi Meir Schmukler and Rabbi Ronnie Fine for helping to make this online shiur a reality.
