CKids Gan Israel Florida Launches Registration

Although the snow is still piled up outside, summer plans are already on everybody’s minds. CKids Gan Israel Florida is proud to announce that they will be opening up registration for their incredible, one of a kind, summer camp created exclusively for children who attend Public School throughout the year and are seeking to maximize their summer vacation with a healthy dose of Jewish pride.

“The unbelievable response, from children around the world, to our CKids programming, has shown us that children are interested, invested, and ready to become more involved,” says Zalmy Loewenthal, Director of CKids International.

Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, Vice Chairman of Merkos recognized that “there was a growing need for such a project on a global level. Kids were eagerly engaging in whatever we had to offer and were actively looking for more. It was time to take the next step.” Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, Executive Director of Merkos 302, adds, “The call of the hour was to create an environment in which the children could be totally immersed in a Yiddishe atmosphere, all while enjoying the summer of a lifetime. We just knew we had to make it happen.”

Set in Lake Worth, Florida, CKids Gan Israel will be under the auspices of Rabbi Yosef Biston, the Head Shliach of North Broward and Palm Beach County. “There are so many children who will benefit from CKids Gan Israel. It is an experience like no other and a real privilege for us to be able to be involved in the project and have it become a part of our shlichus.”

CKids Gan Israel is breaking the mold of the typical Gan Yisroel camp while maintaining the spirit and authentic Yiddishkeit that it has to offer. It is for this reason that CKids Gan Israel is truly one of a kind. The various activities are tailored specifically to the campers and their unique experiences.

“When creating the schedule we really did our research,” Camp Director Chaya Plotkin explains. “What kind of clubs and activities do they enjoy all year round? How can we infuse those much-loved activities with a Jewish flavor?” Every single moment in CKids Gan Israel is packed with hands-on crafts and workshops, high energy recreational activities and various electives with trained professionals.

Last year CKids Gan Israel launched their pilot program, a 10 day camp experience for 30 children. It was, Baruch Hashem, an incredible success. The campers had a blast, the parents were impressed, and the shluchim couldn’t believe the impact that those 10 days had on the boys that they had sent.

Rabbi Levi Plotkin, Director of CKids Gan Israel, relates “the overwhelming amount of positive feedback that we received serves as a testament to the incredible need within our communities and the important role that CKids Gan Israel serves in the lives of the campers who attend, their families, and their communities that they return to and take active leadership roles in, very often bringing their friends in with them for the fun.”

The Rebbe spoke, on multiple occasions, about the profound influence that time spent in summer camp can have on a child. Fueled by this mission, and inspired by the success of their pilot program, CKids Gan Israel is aiming to double their reach this year!

Instead of a 10 day program, the CKids Gan Israel experience will be 20 days long. And, while last year we had 30 campers join us for an incredible summer, this year we are aiming for 60!

In order to ensure that a quality program with a strong emphasis on individual attention can be provided for every single camper, only 60 campers will be accepted to CKids Gan Israel 5781.

CKids Gan Israel is looking forward to what is sure to be an incredible summer filled with fun, meaning and adventure!
