The second season of CKids Gan Israel Florida Winter Camp has come to a close, leaving behind a trail of unforgettable memories, newfound friendships, and a renewed sense of Yiddishkeit. This year’s winter camp was built upon the success of its inaugural season, providing an immersive and engaging experience that inspired campers to grow in their Jewish identity.
As Rabbi Levi Plotkin, camp director, reflected on the winter camp, he noted, “The campers’ enthusiasm and eagerness to learn and participate in the various activities was truly heartwarming. It’s clear that the spark of Yiddishkeit ignited last summer has continued to burn brightly throughout the year.”
The winter camp featured a range of exciting activities, including Torah study, Mitzvah projects, and recreational games. The campers also had the opportunity to participate in Mivtzoim, spreading joy and kindness to those around them.
One of the highlights of the winter camp was the celebration of Chanukah. The camp was filled with the warmth and light of the menorah, and the campers enjoyed a range of festive activities, including a giant menorah lighting, Chanukah-themed games and crafts, and a delicious Chanukah party with traditional foods like latkes and sufganiyot.
“It was truly amazing to see the campers’ faces light up as they celebrated Chanukah together,” said Chaya Plotkin, camp director. “The joy and excitement of the holiday was palpable, and it was clear that the campers felt a deep connection to their heritage.”
The Rebbe taught us “A little bit of light can dispel a lot of darkness.” The CKids Gan Israel Florida Winter Camp was a shining example of this principle, providing a beacon of light and hope for its campers and their families.
The camp staff are already looking forward to the upcoming summer program, with registration being opened in the near future.
