Your business hub in the neighborhood, Crown Heights Young Entrepreneurs—or CHYE as it is better known— is having a fundraising campaign Today Tuesday, November 9th.
CHYE has dramatically changed the face of our community.
Who do you call when in need of a job? Who do you reach out to when looking for a business loan? Who can you rely on for career counseling? The answer, 4 simple letters: CHYE.
CHYE is a full-service business resource center specifically tailored to fit the unique needs of the Chabad Jewish community. “Our approach is three-pronged,” says Rabbi Yehoshua Werde, founder and director of CHYE. “We promote responsible business development, foster a vibrant business networking scene, and assist emerging entrepreneurs and job seekers in their pursuits of lasting success.”
Lighthouse, a new, fast-growing local ABA agency, providing comprehensive services to children on the spectrum led by Pessy Raitman, had the following to say: “CHYE informed us of programs we didn’t even know existed, and helped us access them to gain the resources we needed to help our business grow. CHYE is an invaluable resource to the community! Thank you Rabbi Werde for helping us take our business to the next level.”
Noson Cohen recalls his first encounter with CHYE. “I had a decent job but did not feel my skill-set was being utilized,” shared Cohen. “I approached a career counselor at CHYE and after meeting and creating a resume together, I was connected to a company with a tremendous job offer; one I had no way of attaining myself,” Cohen continued. “From a meager income attempting to sell mortgage plans for a finance firm, I was handed a senior managing position in a leading real estate company.” Reflecting on the transition, Noson added that he now felt established in the workforce and on the path to a successful career.
Over the past year, CHYE’s programs have doubled with additional projects in the works.
Just a few months ago, CH Creative platform was launched, a website exhibiting homegrown talent and giving freelancers a platform on which to display their work and receive job opportunities.
Led by a team of talented job specialists, CHYE’s job placement program in partnership with JCCGCI has suited over 230 people with tailor-fit jobs in the last year alone. Hundreds of Lubavitchers were aided by CHYE’s Covid Relief Support, receiving the necessary help to get back on their feet.
The Business mentor program, CHYE’s flagship initiative—which connects new and existing business owners to qualified mentors for advice and business direction—has grown exponentially, and has recently been launched to Chabad communities worldwide.
Join the momentum. Partner with CHYE in opening doors for our community. Help place Lubavitchers on their two feet.

Rabbi Werdy is one of the biggest tzadikim in Crown Heights.
It’s a shame that he needs to spend half his time fundraising and giving out awards.
He should be the guest of honor at every Crown Heights function. The schools have an easier time collecting tuition because of the people he helped and helps when they are starting out, with advice, training, or just the confidence to get things going. The shluchim who come around with credit card swipers have whom to collect from a lot in part because of who he has helped.
The amount of people be has aided with attaining career positions of all different types and stripes is incredible!
Give to this awesome organization!
