The separate boys and girls divisions of Cheder Chabad of Baltimore recently celebrated the Annual Chumash Party marking the exciting beginning of the children’s studies in Torah sheBichsav.
Amidst much fanfare and student participation, the 13 boys and 6 girls were joined by family and friends in the newly donated 51,000 square foot facility of Cheder Chabad to proudly demonstrate their new learning.
The Chumashim were distributed by Elementary School Principal Rabbi Ephraim Sorkin, First Grade Boy’s Teacher Rabbi Yossy Schanowitz, and First Grade Girl’s teacher Morah Chomi Lisbon.
Rabbi Elchonon Lisbon, Executive Director, opened the program with remarks culled from the Rebbe’s Sichos relating to Chinuch Habonim v’habonos.
Cheder Chabad has embarked upon an ambitious program that integrates the Rabbi Jonathan Rietti methods of Torah study that enables children to excitedly learn the key “shorashim”, Torah narrative, and 613 Mitzvos that will help them successfully navigate the entire Torah throughout their elementary education.
