Hershy Schwartz, a young man who was engaged to be married in ten days, was murdered in a horrific robbery in North Miami Beach, Florida on Sunday.
He was 39.
Hershy was a resident of North Miami Beach and an active member of Chesed Shel Emes of Florida.
He was found after being shot in what appears to be an armed robbery, police said.
Hershy was beloved by all and a dedicated volunteer, the members of Chesed Shel Emes of Florida said.
“We have lost one of our best. We will work together with the police department to bring the perpetrators of the crime to justice,” said Mark Rosenberg, Head of Chesed shel Emes Florida.
CSE Members Dovie Katz, Ari Manson and Abi Friedman said, “Hershy was a unique and wonderful person, always ready to lend a helping hand to all. We extend our condolences to his fiancé and his family.”
Police are continuing to investigate Schwartz’s death, which does not appear to be an anti-Semitic attack.
There will be a 12 AM funeral for Schwartz at Yeshiva Toras Emes in North Miami Beach, 1051 North Miami Beach Boulevard, with a second funeral to be held on Monday in New York at 12:30 PM at Spring Valley’s Nikelsburg Shul, 6 Milton Place.
Schwartz will be laid to rest on Monday afternoon in Kiryas Joel.

AD MASAY!!!???
Hashem Nikdam Damo!
may his neshama have a Aliyah
What the heck?!
Armed robbery?? Where was this?? How on Earth could such a thing happen
And he was finally engaged at 39
Homicide happens unfortunately about 20,000 times a year in America (that’s about 2 per hour). Some humans are kinda unhinged and murderous. We take our life and safety for granted simply assuming the $%^& that happens doesn’t land in our lap. That’s part of the reason why bad news sells so well. We perversely are calmed by that it happens to someone else. Alternatively, that also means it will happen to “only” 6 or 7 people per 100,000. So, yeh, this news is horrifically awful, and disappointingly happens in our “civilized” and “safe” part of earth. May we as a… Read more »

Hashem should give a nechama to Reb Nuchem Schwartz and his family.
There is no words . This is shocking beyond belief
No words. May H’ send a nechama to all the family and the kallah. It was suggested above to carry a gun. This may or may not be a practical solution. One must know the laws of the state where a person resides. If traveling to another state, it’s necessary to know their regulations. An excellent instructor will first and foremost suggest trying to deescalate the situation and escape. Masad Ayoob, a former police officer and expert witness with 50 years experience has excellent, educational YouTube videos on this subject. Frequent practice of a legal weapon for a particular state… Read more »
how can this happen you ask? NMB police are not on the ball there This is not the first time nor unfortunately the last unfortunately The last high profile Jewish community incident they never found teh killers here to will probably be the same it s too liberal down there all the cubans and criminals tolerated brought in by the rats The community is probably anti Gov Desantis etc. & easy targets there are almost no poor people there this is known & they are not properly protected etc.
Your comment is full of assumptions. The community is pro DeSantis. It’s not a Cuban community but surrounded by a black community. Please stop assuming when you have no clue what you’re saying. This as well as the Roksin case we’re both extremely sad and the outcome of a few lowlifes who didn’t value life. However, if you knew Hershy he did carry a gun. Hopefully they will find the ones who committed this heinous crime and Justice will be served. At least here in fl we have bail and jail and the death penalty and we aren’t afraid to… Read more »
