Bais Rivkah Alumnae drops the sixth segment of a 10 part Series sharing Chinuch Jems. In this segment Morah Tiechtel reflects on the Rebbe’s view of the role of Lemudei Chol and the teachers involved.
Do these teachers play a role in the guidance of the students or are they merely there to teach the subject?
Mrs. Tiechtel recalled how while she was teaching Lemudei Chol the Rebbe told her that, “a teacher of general studies can sometimes be even more influential in the child’s life than a teacher of Judaic studies”, from her understanding it is “because according to the student that teacher doesn’t have a specific agenda, so the student would receive her guidance maybe more readily.”
Do the students need to learn Lemudei Chol all together? Find out what the Rebbe told the Bais Rivkah faculty when questions arose?
