A man accused of stalking two young siblings in Brooklyn was released from custody Monday after the children recanted their story, police confirmed.
The 8-year-old girl and her 12-year-old brother are the children of an NYPD officer, and had earlier claimed that the man had stalked them for two days, police said.
On Monday, the man turned himself in to police to tell his side of the story. The children recanted their story and the man was released.
They said he followed them to their bus stop and also showed up twice at their home – at one point even asking the girl where she slept, police said.
Police confirmed that the story was indeed false.
personally im in the same class as the childrens brother(who was also part of the scam). the parents were on vacation, leaving their 4 children at home with babysitter. They even got me involved. im just posting this so people can understand what happened behind the scenes. yes, they are jewish. also chabad.
these kids live in crown heights. they’re parents were on vacation and they were left with a babysitter. They are religious and their dad is a cop. Obviously the parents need to set an example and do a better job and discipline they’re children. The man turned himself in because he had no other chice, he was all over the news. He didnt do anything wrong, he just visited his old house that he used to live in. These kids need to be taught a lesson and i really feel bad for this man that was dubbed a criminal.
Unfortunately when a small child fabricates an abuse story – they may fear to retract after the whole “chodorom” that was created. The innocent man will have to suffer for life.
Many people have been hurt by evil spirited characters who created false stories as a weapon of revenge and went as far as they could to express their hate. May Hashem help that the truth will surface and the innocent should be cleared very soon..

I agree with you 100 percent that is clearly a 2 way street that does not look like ep. And no one should put blame on anyone ( children and suspect) until this whole story is solved Bic there is still a investigation and something is absolutely wrong
Now people know that all they have to do to get out of suspicion is turn themselves in to the police and if the children recant their story, that’s it, the guy goes free. We need moshiach now!!

Only victims here. This was obviously done by the children to get attention. The fact that the parents left them alone with a babysitter, which is unclear if this was a relative, was obviously the only way for them to get their parents attention. Not saying that the kids are blameless, but when children act out in such a fashion its a cry for help. I know the family and I have used the babysitter many times.
The babysitter is innocent here. I have used her many of times and will continue to refer her to others. I am sorry she had to go through this ordeal.
The parents are still on vacation until Sunday and did not cut their trip early.
The kids are capable of making this up. They all need help.

Unfortunately many innocent ppls names have been ruined cuz others made up stories. And society loves believing them. Keep an open mind when u hear Anything cuz there are a lot of people out there that just love creating dirt about others- even children, and even our children. It’s a sick but effective way to ruin others but unfortunately some people are that low and the ‘victim’ s name is usually ruined even if things have been cleared.

In the same way we would react strongly with calls for punishment if the situation was reversed, something needs to be done. Firstly, they need to apologize IN PERSON to this man who has been publicly wronged. They need to apologize to the police, Shomrim, Shmira AND the community for wasting their time and scaring them. Their parents should have to pay the police compensation for the hours of wasted resources and they should make generous donations to the local volunteer organizations.
