Israel’s Chief Rabbi Dovid Lau came to Yeshivas Beis Menachem Mendel (formerly known as “Tzeirei Hashluchim”) in Tzfas, as part of his visit to Northen Israel before Pesach.
Rabbi Lau was welcomed By Rabbi Chaim Kaplan, Head Shliach of Tzfas and dean of the yeshiva, and the Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Zalman Kaplan.
Bochurim were in the midst of study when Rabbi Lau visited. He was told that students of Shiur Gimmel were preparing themselves to get tested on 30 daf of Gemara, Rashi and Tosfos.
Rabbi Lau was honored with presenting a shiur to the entire Yeshiva, following which he was shown the plans of expanding and building of the new Zal – Beis Medrash, which will be starting in the next few weeks.
Rabbi Lau blessed the yeshiva that “just as the current space has exceeded its capacity so will the new Zal be filled and need to be further expanded.”
