Chicago’s annual Yud Tes Kislev farbrengen and seudah was held on Thursday evening at the F.R.E.E. Synagogue in Chicago.
The guest speaker Rabbi Mendel Samuels, Shliach in Farmington Valley, Connecticut, enthralled the audience of Rabbonim, Shluchim and community members from throughout the metropolitan area of Chicago. His insights, Chassidic stories, and and humor kept the audience spellbound throughout the evening.
The event was chaired by Rabbi Levi Notik of the FREE organization, host and organizer of the Farbrengen. Rabbi Shmuel Notik, Director of FREE and leader of the Russian Jewish community, made a siyum on Tanya, and Rabbi Daniel Moscowitz, Head Shliach in Illinois, outlined the opportunities for Mivtza Chanukah.
During the course of the evening a Chalukas Hashas for the coming year was arranged by Rabbi Yosef Chaim Lester.
After the formal program, Rabbi Mendel Samuels and his father Rabbi Yosef Samuels of Milwaukee, continued to farbreng for many hours.
