Chayenu is elated to announce a game-changing development, the latest revolution in bringing daily Torah study to the masses.
In recent weeks, Chayenu has signed an agreement with Koren Publishers and The Steinsaltz Center to include the entire Koren Talmud – Noe Edition in the Chayenu App.
The Koren Talmud is a masterpiece, both in the richness of its content and its simultaneously aesthetically pleasing and easy-to-use design. It combines the deep scholarship of Rabbi Adin Even-Israel Steinsaltz – the first to translate the entire Talmud into English – with the professionalism and world-class publications for which Koren has become famous.
The Chayenu Digital Team is working tirelessly to integrate these unique features into the Chayenu App, making the study of Talmud, in all its depth and beauty, accessible to our readership, worldwide. It will be available to Chayenu App subscribers in the coming months.
Studying All of Talmud: “Chalukas HaShas”
It is a Chabad custom, established by the Alter Rebbe, whose Chag HaGeulah we celebrate today (and it’s mentioned in the closing lines of Tanya, studied on Kislev 18), that each Chassid chooses one Masechta (Tractate) of Talmud to complete within the year. Communities should divide amongst themselves the entire Shas, and thus each person has a portion in the collective completion of Shas that year.
Here is the quote from Tanya:
The Rebbe would encourage this Minhag at the Yud-Tes Kislev Farbrengen each year, and personally fill out a card, as part of the Machne Israel organization’s “Chalukas HaShas” (dividing the Talmud)
Today, we encourage you to take upon yourself one Masechta (Tractate of Talmud) to (bli neder) complete by next year Kislev 19.
