The Lone Soldier is a hero.
They bravely and proudly protect the borders of our holy land, day after day.
They are not there because they have to be, they haven’t been drafted. They selflessly volunteer, knowing full well what they are signing up for and how challenging it will be.
Lone Soldiers are the brave teens who leave their homes and families behind to join the IDF. Although the life of a Lone Soldier is a life of meaning and purpose, it also contains a more challenging aspect.
The Lone Soldiers must navigate their new reality in a new country using a language with which they may not be familiar. Milestones and holidays are spent away from their families and in difficult times they are left without the physical presence and comfort of their support system.
Chayal el Chayal was established to fill that gap. Their goal for the past 10 years has been to provide Lone Soldiers with a home base aside from their army base. The hundreds of Lone Soldiers who have passed through their doors time and time again are a testament to their success.
While most Lone Soldiers would have been away from home for Pesach anyways, which is lonely enough, many found themselves quarantined on base or in lock down at home over Pesach which made the loneliness even stronger. Former Lone Soldiers who have chosen to stay in Israel and make a life for themselves here, have found themselves all alone, without the ability to get together with their community at Chayal el Chayal. One of the critical aspects which makes their living in Israel easier, and to many, even possible.
Chayal el Chayal was there for them. When the reality set in, Chayal el Chayal pivoted and began to shift their focus. Instead of organizing their usual Matzah deliveries and hosting their annual public Seder, they began to strategize how to best bring Pesach to the hundreds of Lone Soldiers who were literally on their own this year.
Thankfully they were able to assist more than 100 Lone Soldiers and former Lone Soldiers with full Pesach food packages as well as gift cards to assist them with getting through these challenging times.
Now, Chayal el Chayal is in the midst of their annual fundraising raffle.
The Prize? $10,000 cash.
Join the Chayal el Chayal Raffle now to help nourish the bodies, minds and souls of hundreds of IDF Lone Soldiers this year.
