Alongside its adult division, this year’s Chassidus in Color Art Contest featured a dedicated children’s track, in conjunction with Tzivos Hashem.
The youth competition received 430 entries and was judged by a panel of four professional artists: Yitzchok Moully, Moshe Katz, Miriam Rappaport, and Rivka Taichman. Ten winners were selected and honored from these hundreds of heartfelt submissions at the contest’s closing event.

One of those winners was 10-year-old Chana Teitelbaum of Florida. When she heard about the new Geulah-themed competition at school, inspiration struck. Using an old book bought for a dollar at the local library, a snippet of Chayenu, some clay, scissors, and a spark of imagination, she crafted a showstopping pop-up book that earned first place in her age group.
Set against the backdrop of the Rambam’s vision of the Messianic era—when “there will be no hunger, no war, no jealousy, nor destruction… where goodness will be in abundance, and all delicacies will be as commonplace as dust”—Chana’s artwork features a paper tree sprouting colorful clay candies, its leaves meticulously hand-cut. “I cut the papers to show that trees will grow candy in the time of Moshiach,” she explained.
The Rebbe encouraged both children and adults to imagine a world where Moshiach has already come, making its imminent arrival more real in our lives. Building on that foundation, this year’s Chassidus in Color challenged young artists to use their G-d-given creativity to convey a Chassidic idea about Geulah through art. More than 430 children participated in the youth track.
Now in its second year, the Chassidus in Color Art Competition explores a new Jewish theme each year, inviting artists of all ages to teach the secrets of Torah in a creative and engaging way. By harnessing the emotional depth and visual power of the arts, the competition spreads the light of Chassidus with beauty and joy.
At the awards ceremony held at the Jewish Children’s Museum, Rabbi Shimmy Weinbaum, Program Director of Tzivos Hashem, addressed the finalists while wearing his signature uniform as General of the Chayolei Tzivos Hashem brigade. “It’s mind-boggling to look through the entries from 430 chayolim, bringing the Geulah to life,” he reflected.

Many parents shared how deeply their children engaged with the ideas of Geulah in order to bring them to life. The parents of 10-year-old Levi Borenstein from New Haven described: “We witnessed our son Levi truly embracing the concepts of Chassidus for weeks, even lying awake at night brainstorming project ideas. While he initially envisioned creating a mountain with water flowing down – inspired by the Chidon water park trip – he soon realized not all ideas are easy to execute in real life. Ultimately, he settled on the profound Chassidic teaching of “מעט אור דוחה הרבה חושך” and began with a drawing of a candle spreading light; when I suggested showing how darkness is actively pushed away, one of the children exclaimed, “Let’s draw hands pushing away the darkness, with fingers representing candles of light through Torah and mitzvot.” Watching our entire family excitedly collaborate and bring his vision to life filled us with immense nachas. As parents, we want to extend a heartfelt Yasher Koach to the organizers and everyone involved in arranging this beautiful project.”

Tzivos Art Contest Winners
Tier Age 11-14
1. Zushe Perlow-Beis Hamikdash

Idea: One day in 1812, the Alter Rebbe was about to breathe his last, a barely-embodied soul from Atzilus hovering between this world and the next. Looking up at the ceiling, he asked his grandson, “What do you see?”
“I see a beam,” came the reply.
The Alter Rebbe differed: “And I see the word of G‑d and the spirit of His mouth that animates that beam and grants it ongoing existence.”

This art piece is a description of what the world will look like when Moshiach comes—when we will be able to physically see with our own eyes how each and every thing in our universe is being constantly created by the דבר ה׳, which is keeping it in existence, as it says in the Possuk, לעולם ה׳ דברך נצב בשמים. The entire art piece is comprised of the words דבר ה׳.
2. JJ Lowenthal-Learning with Hope

Idea: The Rebbe always taught us to live with Moshiach by learning about the times of Geulah. In this drawing, you can see the generation that was and the generation to be. They are learning together about the שור הבר and the לויתן, creatures connected with the final redemption.
May Moshiach come even before I receive my prizes! Thank you so much! I’m so excited to have won second place.
3. Rochel Gurevitch

Idea: This painting is themed in Moshiach concepts, I chose acrylic paints because I have used them many times and feel comfortable with it. I have chosen to express the vision of the Beis Hamikdash. When looking with the correct prescription of glasses, you can see Moshiach is here!
I won 3rd place, and I’m so excited!
The idea I thought of when I heard about the contest- as the Rebbe teaches us to “open our eyes” here we are putting on a pair of glasses to SEE our reality, the 3rd Beis Hamikdash Now!
4. Shaykie Boaz
Idea: Eliyahu hanavi will blow the great shofar when Moshiach comes

5. Menachem Mendel Adelist

Idea: When Moshiach comes (today) the sky will be glowing and it will be a beautiful day. The sun will be shining bright. The birds will sing. The cloud of glory everyone will see.
Tier Age 7-10
1. Chana Teitelbaum

Idea: We learned about the times of Moshiach, where food and treats will from from the earth. This art piece brings that idea to life. I purchased a used book from a local library for a $1 and made a tree out of paper and clay candies. Thank you so much for organizing this. Was such a beautiful idea and event.
2. Esther Baumgarten

Idea: I decided to make my art about peace in the world when Moshiach comes, inspired by the saying that the wolf will rest with the lamb, and the leopard will lie with the child, etc. At first, I didn’t want to use pencils, but after watching a few videos, I saw how well they could look and blend. It didn’t come out as well as I had hoped (I don’t have the best art supplies), but I’m happy with how it turned out. Thank you for organizing this competition, and I hope my drawing will come to life very soon!
3. Sroli Brownstein

Idea: My teacher told me about this contest (since he knows I love to draw), so I started thinking about what to draw about Moshiach. My friends gave me suggestions, but I thought drawing the Beis Hamikdash on a cloud was more connected to Moshiach. Then I started adding details around it— all the shuls that will become part of the Beis Hamikdash as well.
This drawing depicts the Beis Hamikdash descending from Shamayim on a cloud. You can also see various shuls that will be attached to the Beis Hamikdash. Additionally, we see the kibutz galuyos taking place, with Yidden coming to Eretz Yisroel on clouds.
4. Malka Moskowitz

Idea: וגר זאב עם כבש
In my painting, you see a wolf and a lamb sitting together in the times of Moshiach. I’m so excited that I was chosen as a winner.
5. Yehudis Stern

Idea: This painting shows how even in dark places, there’s a special diamond of holiness hidden inside.
When we do mitzvot and good things, it’s like setting that diamond on fire with love for Hashem, making it shine super bright.
The crown reminds us that Moshiach is coming soon, and we will all see the Third Beis Hamikdash, which Hashem is building just for us.
The music notes mean that singing and being happy helps bring Moshiach faster.
Even when things seem cloudy or confusing, Hashem is right here, waiting to reveal the biggest, brightest light ever!
