A fight over a parking spot in Williamsburg turned violent Tuesday morning, resulting in a Chasidic man requiring stitches after being punched in the face, Williamsburg Shomrim told YWN.
Shocking video taken at the scene showed the Chasidic man engaged in a dispute with a relative of a driver he was arguing with, who claimed that he took their parking spot. The video shows the Jewish man being pushed up against a gate before his attacker became more aggressive and punched his victim in the face.
Shockingly, multiple people watching the disturbing incident unfold did nothing as the innocent man was beaten by a stranger. Rather than helping, the people nearby either stood around and watched, or worse, videoed the incident without stepping in.
The incident is being investigated by the NYPD, but not as a hate crime, and contrary to suggestions made by Dov Hikind on Twitter, there was no evidence that the attacker is a “violent antisemite.”

You’re totally right, being a bystander to any type of violence is unacceptable and horrible behavior, but video footage can serve as proof and evidence.
If no one has stepped forward to help in a situation like this, be that person.
If someone has already stepped forward, take out your phone and keep recording.

Imagine being at a level such that you would fight…over a parking spot! How sad that society has failed these individuals.
1) The perp will be found – put posters up – put a reward – surveillance cameras etc –
2) Publish his name, age, address on a website so that it will show up under google internet searches. Publish his families names to shame them as well.
3) Although nothing said was anti-Semitic, this is the second time in a few weeks that an Orthodox Jews are being assaulted by an anti-Semitic over-reaction to a car accident.

This happens everyday in every Jewish hood in BK. I personally witness over reaction to Jews ALL THE TIME! Parking seems to be a popular one, happened to me recently. A big black man started cursing insanely loud at my temporary parking off the curb meanwhile he was on foot?! I didn’t saya word. I just stood there and stared him dead in the eyes till he went blue in the face and went on his way. Even another black man who witnessed the situation said the guy was bugging. The truth is all the keyboard warriors have a lot to say but in the event this would happen most people would stay clear. No idea of details BUT one thing stressed in Concealed Carry classes is to AVOID conflict in the first place.
Again, stressing that I’m not sure of the facts here so I’m in no way placing blame. As a general lesson, don’t insist on getting the last word. You don’t always have to be right. Sometimes it’s better to lose an argument than to insist on winning. Generally, go for de-escalation but avoid the argument in the first place.

De-escalation the situation is neutralizing this little menace. Based on what I see in the video I dont see anyone escalating the situation except him. He took things far beyond words when he threw a sucker punch. Maybe if he ate a shoe and got a few rib shots he’d have an epiphany
This incident would have never happened in Williamsburg of old. Ten burly Chassidim would delivered street justice and the big mouthed punk would have never showed his face again in the community.
