This 50% number has been around for over 50 years. With all of the outreach and Chabad and Hillel and etc. it has not made a dent into that number. It is very sad.

1. Hillel is not a religious movement and does not advocate for Mitzvos. In fact, many Hillel branches see themselves as cultural or progressive Jewish centers that do no abide by Torah laws (there are expectations, but this is overall the approach) 2. For some reason, Jewish burial/cremation is not a focal point of Chabad outreach. Shluchim do all that they can to stop a cremation but this isn’t one of the Rebbe’s 10 Mitzvah campaigns (why? The living partner, the surviving children or family members responsable look in these very difficult times the help of the chevra kadisha, however, the directness rude answer is first always ” did you do your community payments for the burial society?”. If it was, no problem. If not, they need guarantors or front payment for the amount of 15000£, ….cremation is only 2000£ with no strings attached, no last minute emergency fees or other skinning. People are just so misinformed.

Practically all officiating rabbis at funerals should be given nice pamphlets Made Nicely to hand out at funerals to participants so people can get educated.
Wonder who can get this actually Done.

Is there an organization that will cover the cost of proper Jewish burial ??I tried myself to stop a cremation and learned a lot has to do with money
