Over 500 people from Crown Heights joined for a Chanukah ice skating event at Brooklyn’s Prospect Park on Sunday, the first night of Chanukah.
The community-wide event was organized by Bais Shmuel Chabad of Crown Heights, which organizes many community events throughout the year, together with Chabad Heights Synagogue and other neighborhood Shuls.
The crowd proudly celebrated Chanukah in the public park, enjoying hot latkes, doughnuts and pizza and family ice skating to Jewish music at the Le Frak rink.
The highlight of the event was the lighting of a large Menorah.
The children gathered to recite the 12 pesukim and Chanukah gelt was distributed to the over 300 children in attendance by Bais Shmuel President Rabbi Moshe Pinson.
