Chanukah was celebrated this year in Tasmania, in the southermost Chabad house in the world, directed by Shluchim Yochanan and Rochel Gordon.
A special children’s program and Chanukah party was run by Racheli Rosenswieg and Kerrin Sacks-Davis from Melbourne in the Chabad House, where the children baked latkes, did arts and crafts, and learned all about Chanuka.
A Public Menorah lighting was held outside of the second oldest shul in Australia, for the first time ever in Northern Tasmania. About 50 people attended, who enjoyed music and doughnuts.
The Rebbe says that the ultimate shlichus is in a makoim rachoik begashmiyus uberuchniyus, Launceston Tasmania is both.
