Thanksgiving was started by Jews! We taught the world to be thankful to Hashem, so the pilgrims did too. Probably some Jews among the pilgrims. It’s a parve “holiday” and my mother reserved the turkey for shabbos.

I was taught that if a goy wears purple shoelaces, a Jew does not – that we do not follow the fashions and customs of the nonJews, which means we do not celebrate their holidays. Why this mixing of our holiday of Chanukah with the secular holiday of Thanksgiving? This word Thanksgivukkah seems like a mixing of religion and secular. I also thought the Puritans were not in favor of the Jews just like the Syrian Greeks.
