Mrs. Chana Shalinsky, mother of Devorah Leah Shalinsky of Crown Heights. She passed away on the 15th of Shvat 5783.
She was 98.
Shalinsky was a frequent and beloved visitor to the Crown Heights neighborhood for Yomim Tovim, and was part of the Chabad community of Overland Park, Kansas.
She embraced the mitzvos at an advanced age and had fixed learning in the Rebbe‘s teachings. She was a devoted and supportive wife to her husband, who was an ex-POW of World War II.
She is survived by her children, Avigail Chaya, Baruch Melech , Devorah Leah, and grandson, Eliyahu Menachem.
She was predeceased by her husband, Yaakov Mendel Shalinsky OBM.
The levaya will take place in Kansas City.
Shiva will begin in Kansas City, information will be updated later.

She looks like such a sweet person and holy soul.
Mrs. Shalinsky a”h was a very fine person — sweet, down-to-earth, real Midwesterner. She was always a pleasure to meet on Shabbos (as well as her daughter!). May she be a malitz yosher for Klal Yisrael!
A very precious woman with plenty of grace and common sense. So close to her devoted daughter Devora Leah. Sending comfort to the family.

May Chana Bas Nechama’s neshama soar to the highest places. She raised a wonderful daughter. Morah Devorah Leah really cares about each of our children’s chinuch from instilling in them Yiras Shamayim to teaching them happy songs. May you only have good news from now on.
