Chaim Shalom Sarchi, a beloved husband and father from Johannesburg, South Africa, passed away on Thursday, 2 Av, 5783.
He was 37.
Chaim was a member of the Chabad community in Johannesburg, where he was a devoted volunteer for Hatzalah.
He was known as a man who was kind, soft-spoken and loved. He was known for quietly doing chesed that was far reaching and ongoing.
He recently suffered a brain aneurism, and many around the world united in praying for his recovery. Many mitzvos were taken on in his honor.
He is survived by his wife Liat and children, as well as his parents Michael and Rebecca Sarchi and siblings.
The Levaya was held today and included a moving tribute by his fellow Hatzalah volunteers. As a large funeral of Hatzalah cars and ambulances followed him to the cemetery, his colleagues made one last “call.”
