Chaim Meir Aden, an IDF soldier who attended Chabad schools and who was seriously injured in the Hamas Massacre on Simchas Torah, passed away from his wounds on Shabbos, 26 Kislev, 5784.
He was 20 years old.
Sergeant Chaim Meir Aden was a fighter in the 13th Battalion, Golani Brigade. He was seriously injured while protecting the Land of Israel during the Hamas Massacre on October 7th – Simchas Torah.
He grew up in Nes Tziona, where he attended Chabad schools and later the family moved to Rechovot. His parents, R’ Adi and Mrs. Aden, attend the Chabad Shul in Rechovot, led by Shliach Rabbi Menachem Mendel Gluckowsky.
Chaim Meir was injured in the Hamas attack, and had been fighting for his life for the past few weeks. On Shabbos morning he passed away from his injuries.
Thousands of people attended his Levaya on Motzei Shabbos. The funeral left from his home in Rechovot, as thousands of residents from his hometown lined the streets with Israeli flags, to escort him to burial.
Thousands more attended the funeral itself. Rabbi Gluckowsky addressed the funeral, giving words of Chizuk to the crowd who attended from all over Israel.
