Chabad couple Yermi and Rena Udkoff (nee Greenberg) will be featured Monday on a show on Oprah Winfrey’s OWN Channel.
The couple, who currently lives in San Diego, CA were filmed at their wedding in Crown Heights on Rosh Chodesh Tammuz 5773, June 9, 2013.
The other Jewish story featured on the show is that of a Shliach’s son in Budapest, Hungary, at his Bar Mitzvah.
The wedding footage was filmed as part of a series on belief around the world.
The couple’s traditional Chabad wedding took place at the Hall at Bais Rivka in Crown Heights with the Chuppah taking place at 770 Eastern Parkway.
The crew from Harpo and part2productions worked with Chabad.org’s Motti Seligson and Chabad lecturer Sara Esther Crispe as their consultants for the Jewish community.
Producer Daniele Anastasion and director Eric Strauss met with the couple and decided they would be a good fit for the show, Rena Udkoff told COLlive.
“They filmed us in the days leading up to our wedding and interviewed us on the Jewish concept of soul mates,” Udkoff said. “We explained how we believe each part of a couple has a half of a soul that comes together to become one soul through marriage.”
The couple were then filmed in the spiritual and physical preparations for the wedding and then followed on their entire wedding day.
