TODAY, Gimmel Tammuz, 30 Chabad centers across the UK have joined forces for a unique Giving Day.

Starting at 3PM EST, the campaign will feature a livestream, virtual event hosting diverse and noteworthy speaker, such as R. Shmuel Lew, R. Simon Jacobson, R. Manis Friedman, Zeesy Deren, Dr. David Luchins, R. Laibl Wolf, and Fruma Schapiro.

Topics for the event will unite current and chasidic themes of social justice, Moshiach, mental and emotional well-being, Feminism, inclusion, and more. A live broadcast from the Ohel will be held, as well as a musical interlude of niggunim.

With many institutions shuttering their doors to self protect during lockdown, Chabad UK instinctively used these past months to increase their efforts and find innovative solutions to help others.

The centres have consistently anticipated the need of their communities in the UK. Volunteers are stepping up operations, as well, providing Shabbat food deliveries for over 8000 families, Zoom programmes serving over 10,000 participants, shopping for the sick and vulnerable, distributing toys to children in need, countless phone calls and visits offering strength and encouragement, financial assistance for those in need, and providing DIY Shavuot packs bringing the joy of Yom Tov into people’s homes.

Many even distributed iPads to help the elderly connect with their loved ones.

Additionally, Chabad centres across the UK helped people celebrate their own simchas and reassured and comforted those in grief, acting as pillar of strength among all the uncertainty. While others were furloughed and couldn’t work, Chabad UK continued working. Even when it was not possible to raise funds, Chabad UK continued to give and give.

Now, more than ever, it is essential that Chabad continue to be ready and present for the welfare of its people.
