The Miami Heat are taking on The Dallas Mavericks in Downtown Miami for the NBA Finals and Chabad of the Finals is there to cheer them on.
Over 40 Tefillin including 2 Karkaftas were put on at Chabad of the NBA Finals, a project of The Shul of Downtown and Brickell and Chabad in Miami Beach – a joint effort of Rabbis Chaim and Eli Lipskar and Rabbi Zev Katz. Thousands of passersby took pictures at this unique custom designed NBA and Miami Heat Mitzvah Tank.
One of the older men who put on Tefillin said in 2006 when the Miami Heat were down 0-2 he came by the Mitzvah Tank and that night the Heat miraculously came back in game 3 and later to win the Finals – he was looking for the “Finals” Mitzvah Tank to make sure the Heat repeat their win.
And the Tefillin seems to have worked again – Heat pulled off a victory in Game 1, crushing the Mavericks 92-84.

but may I ask what’s the deal with the trend of taking pictures of someone putting on tefilin and then posting it on blogs? Is it a bragging thing like catching a fish? B’emet I’m I never fully understood the whole concept. Please advise
