Chabad RARA Hits the Road

The RARAmobile underwent a thorough mechanical overhaul and is prepared to spend a quarter of the year on the road. But even this is not enough to cover the great expanse of Australia and a second vehicle has been enlisted to travel the gravel roads of the outback.

Shmully Levitin and Shneor Wineberg have been in south west Victoria visiting the local Jews while Meir New and Moshe’le Liberow headed up the eastern seaboard doing the same.

Already they have met tens of Jews for whom this may be their only connection with Judaism. They have laid tefilln, affixed mezuzos and helped light Shabbos candles. The RARA visits are always a big hit with the local Jewry and this stint is no exception.

The RARA boys spend their time meeting with members of the RARA family as well as actively seeking out Jewish individuals who erringly believed that there is no Yiddishkeit in their small town. By and large these people gladly join the RARA family and begin to partake in RARA’s many activities.
