“A wedding, even for a private person, is an ‘all-encompassing’ event. For me, however, my wedding [was certainly of a broader nature, for it] brought me into more general and communal affairs…
“This is the day when I was connected with you, and you were connected with me. Together, we will successfully toil to bring about the true and final geula.
“May Hashem help [us] that we will see fruitful results from our labor!”
These now famous words of the Rebbe is how he described the day of 14 Kislev, when the Rebbe and Rebbetzin were married in Warsaw, Poland.
This month, Chassidim around the world will mark 90 years since this momentous date in 5689 (1928).
Preparations to adequately celebrate the occasion are already underway in many Chabad communities and yeshivos around the world.
A special celebratory edition of the Chassidisher Derher magazine has been published, detailing the story of the royal wedding and how the anniversary was marked in the Rebbe’s presence throughout the years.
